To mark Earth Day 2024, The Independent is donating £20,000 of ad inventory to the charity Surfers Against Sewage, to support its invaluable work. 

Surfers Against Sewage is a UK grassroots environmental charity that campaigns to protect the ocean. It was created in 1990 by a group of Cornish surfers, fighting to clean up the water that was making them unwell. Today, Surfers Against Sewage campaigns on all that threatens the sea, from sewage to plastic, mobilising communities of ocean activists to take on the polluters.
