The Independent is incredibly proud to say that Holly Bancroft and team are finalists in the 2024 Amnesty Media Awards written news category.

The shortlisting recognises the powerful joint investigation that uncovered shocking evidence that Afghan soldiers who were trained, paid and worked ‘shoulder-to-shoulder’ with UK forces were denied relocation to Britain and instead left to face torture and death at the hands of the Taliban.

The winners will be announced on 9 May.
