Hello and welcome back to Insider — your one-stop shop for everything Independent Advertising.

In this installment we have a plethora of exciting new announcements to share with the Insider readers, including two groundbreaking brand launches from The Independent, new festival partnerships and our refreshed commitment to support NSPCC’s Childline service.

Independent Studio and Bulletin

In an exciting move for The Independent, this week saw the reveal of two brand new feathers in the cap of the publisher – Independent Studio and Bulletin.

Independent Studio is where The Independent’s journalism and content comes to life in talent-led media: original video, podcasts, newsletters and more. Front and centre of Independent Studio will be acclaimed journalists and stand-out creators: names and faces that our audiences know and trust.

Bulletin, The Independent’s cutting-edge AI-enabled news service, is now live. It’s a daily, AI-assisted editorial platform offering high-quality, concise news, curated and verified by The Independent’s journalists. As well as publishing at bulletin.news, The Independent has partnered with WeAre8, the world’s only sustainable social media app, to deliver exclusive content to the platform’s 1.6 million monthly active users.

Both new products were launched at The Independent’s Advertising Week Europe leadership breakfast titled ‘Trust, Trust and AI: Inside the Journalism Revolution’ on Wednesday 2 April.

To Budapest or Bilbao? Why not both!

More music fans choose The Independent than any other national news title, and we are thrilled to share that The Independent is now the exclusive international news partner of two European music festivals – Sziget and Bilbao BBK Live. These new relationships will offer festival goers and The Independent’s music and travel loving readers an exhilarating combination of exclusive news, coverage and reviews of this year’s events.

Sziget – one of Europe’s biggest festivals – transforms Óbuda Island in historic Budapest into a music lover’s paradise, an ‘Island of Freedom’ featuring music, theatre, cabaret, comedy and more. Taking place 6–11 August 2025, a star-studded lineup including Chappell Roan and Charli xcx will descend on the city for six days of joyful celebration of culture and the arts. Tickets are available here.

Bilbao BBK Live, widely known for its diverse and artistic programme of established and breakthrough talent, is set to return to Kobetamendi on 10–12 July 2025 with headliners including Raye, Bad Gyal, Kylie Minogue and Britpop legends, Pulp. Grab your tickets here.

Time to escape

The Independent will be the exclusive news partner of The Great Escape for the third year running. This year’s festival will be bigger and better than ever, kicking off a day early on Wednesday 14th May to bring an extra day of live music to Brighton’s most iconic venues.

Returning once more to The Old Market, The Independent Stage will this year present British rock icons Skunk Anansie, offering fans their only chance to join the band in an intimate club setting as part of their upcoming sold-out UK headline tour. Read more here.

Monday Movie Club continues!

The Independent is pleased to be continuing its partnership with NSPCC’s Monday Movie Club in support of the indispensable national Childline service. The partnership with NSPCC began in 2022, and the ongoing relationship underscores The Independent’s commitment to supporting organisations that make change happen.

The Monday Movie Club sees members monthly screenings of high-profile films before they are released. Exclusive previews take place on a monthly basis in the confines of the lauded Ham Yard Hotel in Soho. Members also have access to an elegant private bar in which they can entertain guests.

Since launching in 2011, the initiative has raised more than £1 million to fund Childline, which is a free 24-7 confidential counselling service for children and young people.
