News brand readership figures have been released by Ipsos iris, which reveal another excellent month for The Independent.
UK highlights for JulyÂ
- The Independent was the largest quality digital news brand* yet again. It has now beaten titles including The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Times and The Sunday Times for four of the past six months.
- The Independent reached 21.3m readers
- Whilst The Independent’s audience grew 1% MoM (month on month), the top 10 news brands on average dropped -0.1% MoM
- The Independent’s sport section increased by +1.1m or +68.4% MoM, travel was up +494k (+23.4%) and IndyBest +291k (+18.1%)
- Indy100 was the fastest growing of the news brand pureplay* titles, up +19% MoM and +68% YoY to 1.5m
- The Independent remains the largest pureplay news brand in the UK.
